Secretary General – SeungYun Lee
Head of CSIAMUN 2025

Welcome, delegates
As the Secretary General of this year’s conference, I am honored to invite students from around the world to CheongShim International Academy’s 2025 Model United Nations conference.
Each year, delegates from across the globe gather in the picturesque province of Gapyeong, with a wholehearted commitment to spreading their culture and bravely voicing out their opinions on issues in need of great discussion. It is through these steps that I believe, those students are able to become great leaders and the revolutionizers of a new generation.
Having participated in all CSIAMUN conferences since my first in 2021—whether as a chair or a delegate—I have experienced the thrill of representing a nation in the UN, discussing matters such as cultural conservation, and exploring global issues from diverse perspectives. The enthusiasm and learning from those experiences continue to inspire me.
This year marks our 17th conference since the inaugural event in 2007. As such, it is our intention, as well as my personal ambition see through in this year wonderous adventures in the conference, including explorations of STEM topics and new, innovative committees.
With our new initiative, the accumulated wisdom throughout 17 years, and our remarkable chairs and staff, I am confident that CSIAMUN will be a transformative experience for all delegates, as it has been for me.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the staff, press, design, chairs, and our faculties at CSIA for their unwavering dedication in making the conference a reality.

CSIAMUN will provide you with more than just an academic exercise; it is a forum where ideas meet action, where young leaders like yourselves have the opportunity to engage with some of the most pressing issues facing our world today. The skills you develop here—critical thinking, negotiation, and collaboration—are essential not only for your personal growth but for the betterment of our global society. Spending my last six years in MUNs and diplomacy, in over 20 conferences including CSIAMUN, I do not doubt that this experience will extend to further vivid experiences and lessons.
Also as head of Round Square, I assure international delegations that CSIAMUN will put our utmost effort to make the most out of your experience in South Korea.
As we embark on this journey together, I look forward to witnessing the ideas, resolutions, and friendships that will emerge over the course of the conference. Let us strive to make this a memorable and impactful experience for all.
Once again, welcome to Cheongshim International Model United Nations. I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

HEAD CHAIR – Sunho Choi
Chair’s Introduction
Greetings Delegates,
I am Sunho Choi, a senior at Cheongshim. I am honored to serve you as the chair of the UNESCO committee this year. Since the war’s end, UNESCO has consistently shown leadership in using culture, science, and education to drive peace and prosperity in the past eight decades. It has extended our modern world’s amenities to all, improving livelihoods. It is my utmost hope that you will be able to continue on with this work.
On a more personal note, this will be the last and culmination of the Model United Nations conference of my high school MUN career. I’ve spent over six years in the MUNiverse, attending and leading conferences throughout the APAC Region as a delegate, a student officer, the head of staff, and a Secretary General. I’ve met numerous inspirational folks and grown as a negotiator, a debater, and a person. And never once did this community fail to intrigue me. It is not only a place where I first-handedly engaged in global diplomacy but also a place that gave me a chance to question the world in which we all reside: the meaning of “us,” the purpose of “humanity,” and what lies ahead of us.
Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced delegate, there’s always a lot you can take away from practicing the modus operandi of diplomatic relations. I hope you a fascinating journey this year in UNESCO.

DEPUTY CHAIR – Yoon Na
Chair’s Introduction
Greetings, delegates!
Welcome to CSIAMUN XVII. My name is Yoon Na, and it is an honor to serve as the deputy chair for UNESCO. You, as part of UNESCO, will play an integral role in facilitating necessary discussions to promote education, science, and culture worldwide.
Throughout the conference, I will strive to create an engaging and collaborative environment. I hope all delegates experience enhanced confidence, valuable takeaways, and lifelong memories.
See you in February!

HEAD CHAIR – Ajin
Chair’s Introduction
Greetings delegates!
I am Ajin Jo, a rising junior at Cheongshim International Academy.
It is an honor to serve as the head chair at HRC for CSIAMUN XVII.
MUN, the Model United Nations is an experience full of dynamics, where delegates can interact and communicate with people from different backgrounds, and having a conference with them would be out of one’s comfort zone, which might seem intimidating at first. However, once getting used to the atmosphere and blending in, the umami MUN gives will be unforgettable. 2 years ago, I was also a newcomer to MUN and faced some hardships of public speaking and forming blocs; but with the assistance of chairs and other delegates, I was able to overcome the situations, and is now helping as a head chair.
As the head chair, I am more than excited to support the delegates to actively participate throughout the sessions, and have a fruitful conversation regarding the agendas, which reflects the challenges we face today. I want the delegates to remember that the chairs are always nearby when there is a need for guidance. So do not be afraid to question!
I will see you at the conference:)
